Struwwelpeter

These are based on stories in Struwwelpeter.  It's a book of old German cautionary tales for children that are vaguely traumatising (but fun!).  I was really in the mood for colour!

Stripes

Covers for the 'There Once Lived A Woman Who...' books.

There Once Lived A Woman Who Had A Tiny Little Daughter

The last Ludmilla Petrushevskaya-inspired mini book.  This one is based on The Cabbage Patch Mother.  It's a bit like a slightly depressing Thumbelina.

There Once Lived A Woman Who Carried An Enormous Secret In Her

Some more spreads from the Russian story-inspired mini books.  This one is based on Marilena's Secret, a story about a very large woman with a very large secret.

There Once Lived A Woman Who Tried To Kill Her Neighbour's Baby

These are some spreads from a mini book based on There Once Lived A Woman Who Tried To Kill Her Neighbour's Baby by Ludmilla Petrushevskaya.  This story is inspired by Revenge, about a woman who really really hates her neighbour's baby.

Never Go Into The Woods Alone

The last batch of spreads from this series!  This mini-book is about an unfortunate misunderstanding.  It's based on a newspaper article that was photocopied and now misplaced, so no link.

Never Feed The Bears

So these are from a mini-book about a child with horribly misguided parents.  It's based on an urban legend based on an interesting photo.

Never Help Little Old Ladies

Spreads from a mini-book about a little old lady with a secret.  The most typically urban-legend-y story out of the set.

Never Underestimate Plants

Spreads from a mini-book about a man with a soul-destroying obsession.  Based on this death-by-cactus story.

Never Order Cats Online

Some spreads from a series of mini-books inspired by urban legends.  This one is about the sad fate of an unfortunate cat.  Inspired by bonsai kittens
